Happy August! With the start to a new month, I would like to highlight a couple books from a well-known Florida author, James Patterson. The following books will keep you reading, and are also set in Florida!
"Filthy Rich"
James Patterson's, "Filthy Rich," is a great read for laying by the pool or by the beach. It is so intriguing and is a shocking true crime tale of money, power, and sex from the world's most popular thriller writer. It features Jeffrey Epstein, who has an estate in Palm Beach, Florida in the present. Epstein gained his wealth through a combination of access and skill. But even after he had it all, he wanted more. And that unceasing desire - especially a taste for young girls - resulted in his stunning fall from grace. From Epstein himself, to the girls he employed as masseuses at his home, to the cops investigating the appalling charges against him, "Filthy Rich," examines all sides of a case that scandalized one of America's richest communities - Palm Beach. And the case is still going on! Trust me, you will not be able to put this book down. It is for any woman who loves to read!
"Now You See Her"
"Now You See Her," by James Patterson is another novel that you just will not be able to put down. Bring it on your next cruise or resort stay. It is about
a successful lawyer and loving mother. Nina Bloom would do anything to protect the life she's built in New York — including lying to everyone, even her daughter, about her past. But when an innocent man is framed for murder, she knows that she can't let him pay for the real killer's crimes. Nina's secret life began 18 years ago. She had looks to die for, a handsome police-officer husband, and a carefree life in Key West, Florida. When she learned she was pregnant with their first child, her happiness was almost overwhelming. But Nina's world is shattered when she unearths a terrible secret that causes her to run for her life and change her identity. Then, years later, Nina risks everything she's earned to return to Florida and confront the murderous evil she fled. I really enjoyed this book, and I recommend it to anyone. It has many twists and takes you on a clever ride.
I have read both books, and they are addicting. I'd say these are perfect for the relaxing, summer days of August.
